Oh, I love you baby en me caressant qu’elle disait
Chaque fois, chaque fois

I’m a frog at loose in a so roast beef country
Tell me, tell me
If you really believe that Sunday could be sunny
Tell me, tell me, oh tell me
Tell me, yeah

English translation

I was on holiday in London. She was English, and her eyes
Were burning like embers.
I’ve forgotten her name; what I remember most about her
Is an old fright…
Fear gives you wings.

“Oh, I love you baby,” she’d say as she caressed me,
Every time, every time
Her boyfriend went off to teach karate.

Ah, ah, ah…
We traded tongues wherever it felt good.
On a trampoline, we made love, frog-style.

I felt like a French Froggy Lover, she was so beautiful.
I felt like a French Froggy Lover, love gives you wings.

Her boyfriend was at least nine feet tall.
Muscle-bound. THICK-headed.
One day I bumped into him in the bathroom.
I felt rather awkward.

Since he was English, I started talking to him about… Joan of Arc.
I went straight through the window and landed in the park.

And there I was, stark naked, sitting on a bed of roses,
Offended and wounded.
My pride distinctly scratched.
I was getting worried.

Some passers-by — I’d taken them for beavers at first —
Asked me if I was from Cambridge or Oxford.

I told them, “French Frog in Love — God, she’s beautiful!”
I told them, “French Frog in Love — love gives you wings!”

And that’s how I made the front page of the English papers:
Completely, completely, completely naked, sitting o-on a rosebush.

Underneath the photograph it said:
“Another crazy Frenchman
Who doesn’t know that over here, you don’t talk about Joan of Arc.”

So tell me why, ever since that infamous affair,
Englishmen keep coming up to me and introducing me to their ladies,

Saying, “French Lover, hey” (doo-doo-doo-doo)
Saying, “French Lover, hey” (doo-doo-doo-doou)

I’m a frog at loose in a so roast beef country
Tell me, tell me
If you really believe that Sunday could be sunny
Tell me, tell me, oh tell me
Tell me, yeah
